MacDaddy's Birthday Bash!
My baby will be seven years old this weekend. Having a winter birthday has been tough for his dad and me, because we can't just stick the kids in the back yard or have a pool party, beach party, etc. We sometimes must be creative or we'll have a house full of little boys running around tormenting the kitties and the dog, and well, that's not fair to the cats..... and I can't deal with that!
This year, we did a lot of research on places around town that offer
birthday parties.... Inside. For such a small community, we were surprised to find many options. Since Tanner is happiest with a remote control or joystick in his hand, we decided on MacDaddy's in Cape Carteret for a day of bowling & video games!
I don't think we could have made a better choice. When they first quoted me the price, I hit the floor..... $255 for 10 kids. But once I realized what was included, I felt relieved that I didn't have to worry about anything. Considering that five days before the party, I had to rush to Alabama for a funeral, not to return until the day before the party, I was even more thrilled with the service they offer. Seriously.... Everything was taken care of! So, what do you get for $255?

Tanner enjoyed his party completely. I enjoyed sitting back and relaxing while Austin, our birthday buddy, took charge and handled 
everything. The kids absolutely loved him! He was fun, organized and just plain wonderful! Austin made sure that Tanner's day was as special as we could imagine, and I am so grateful for the wonderful birthday memory that MacDaddy's helped us create!

You know what, $25 bucks a head for all that's included is not a bad thing for the piece of mind. And, remember, you can't put a price on your little man's happiness!
Good job Amy! We also have a son who is turning 9 this year and his birthday is in January. Thankfully, we are blessed with a lot of mild temperatures and sunny days in January here in Texas. On the bad side is the fact that you really have no way of knowing if you're going to get one of those clear mild days or not until the last minute. So we usually opt for the planned party as well. After many "at home" parties we realized that we spend the same amount or more doing it ourselves and have twice the stress and tripple the mess! Mac Daddy's sounds fun. That looks like a lifetime memory, and a great place to take kids for mom and dad :) We had a lazer tag birthday party not too long ago for one of the grandsons, and it was the most fun I've had in a long time :)) Looks like a nice group of kids you have assembled there :). Good job, Mom
Amy - how fun!!! If I lived closer I'd arrange my hubby's party there too, LOL The kids look like a good time was had by all and that's the important part.
That is a perfect place to have a birthday bash, especially for a crowd of active 7-year olds! Happy Birthday to your little guy, it goes by so fast and this will be a memorable day for everyone!
That's exactly why I would do my daughter's B-Day parties at Chucky Cheese...no worries, no cleanup and the kids have a ton of fun! Sounds like MacDaddy's is a terrific place to host a younger child's B-Day party and truly not a bad price at all for what is included.

And the grandparents enjoyed standing aside and watching the kids have so much fun. I had no idea that bowling allies had those rubber bumper sides to keep the kids' balls from going into the gutter. Made it possible for all the kids to compete! Good job Amy!

Amy, it looks like you succeeded in making Tanners and his friends day...looks like a happy bunch...with that said I think cats deserve a little abuse ;}...........................................still buddies???

Jason - Happy Birthday to your little one! And good luck! We tried to have an outside party once, and the day before the party they were calling for 40 degrees, 40-50 MPH winds, and several inches of rain.... Now, I take no chances ;0) When you break down the cost, It really is a good deal, and all without a headache!
Mimi - Laser Tag sounds wonderful, I would have enjoyed that..... I think! We had a good time, it was a great bunch of kids!
Susan - A good time was definitely had.... And one of the parents had just had their birthday party there. MacDaddy's also has a sports bar & grill, private lanes..... Fun Place!
Wanda - You are so right.... It is going WAY too fast! The kids had a wonderful fun time, and Tanner is still talking about it!
Brenda - Thanks. Next year, we are looking at a skating party (45 miles from home), so we don't have to worry about a thing. Our closest Chucky Cheese is about an hour away..... That may still work! It is so nice as a mom to sit back and relax during the party, and actually enjoy the time instead of working ;0)
Mom - You've never seen the bumpers? You should go bowling more often! The kids had fun, and I had fun watching them..... Life is good!
